A cooperative is a member owned, not-for-profit organization. Its purpose is to serve its members in a manner that will benefit them. Beyond the product or service itself, one of the most apparent benefits is the return of margins to members in proportion to their use of the co-op products or services. This means that any monies collected in excess of operating expenses are refunded to its members. The Corporation's policies currently allow for the retirement of patronage capital on a Board-defined rotation cycle.
MISSION:
Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation exists to serve the changing needs of members by enhancing the quality of life through active support of community developments and identifying and serving the member's energy needs.
VISION:
We will achieve our Mission in a manner that members will choose and support us, even when faced with other options.
