Having a history rich in tradition and the humble beginnings born in politics, the EMC’s have long understood the importance of quality, service and tradition. Recently, EMC’s across Georgia have participated in the Management Development Program sponsored by the University of Georgai and the Georgia Electric Cooperative Training Center in Smarr. One of the class projects had the participants selling raffle tickets with the proceeds purchasing a flag pole and flag that was placed at the Smarr training facitily.
The course is focusing on Power and Influence, Ethics, Motivation, Conflict, Team and Group Dynamics. The team project was the raffle. The 11 students in the class represented Carroll EMC, Sawnee EMC, and Snapping Shoals EMC. They sold 875 tickets collecting a total $1,750. Sawnee EMC’s five (5) employees sold a total of 500 tickets for this project. The drawing was held on March 17, 2004 and two (2) Sawnee EMC employees each won a $200 gift certificate. “It was very exciting to have the team pull together for such a wonderful cause, stated Ryan Satterfield, Director of Customer Service, Sawnee EMC. All of the elements of the course were included in the
Team Project and, as you can see, was successful.”
