A good neighbor helps out when
there is work to be done and supports the community by getting involved. Sawnee
EMC has followed this philosophy for 65 years and has recently joined with the
North Metro Miracle League (NMML) to offer a better tomorrow for disabled
children and adults in the North Metro communities. The NMML is redesigning a
field in Alpharetta’s North Park. This field will offer the Miracle League
player a barrier-free surface to play on which is safer and more user friendly.
Historically, people with
disabilities have been denied the opportunity to participate in community-based
recreational opportunities, especially children with severe physical and mental
disabilities. The North Metro Miracle League will make it possible for these
children and adults to live a dream. In addition, the NMML is developing a
service opportunity for volunteers in the community that will lead to an
increased awareness about the abilities and needs of people with disabilities.
Sawnee EMC has joined a host of
other businesses to support this charitable organization. “Contributing
lighting for the field is our way of showing our support for such an
outstanding program and helping the communities we serve,” stated Blake House,
Vice President of Member Services and Legislative Affairs. “Community
involvement has always been a vital part of Sawnee EMC in our mission to
provide the best available service to our members.”
