Sawnee EMC Participates in Career Day at Cumming Elementary Contact:
Cindy King, Director of External Affairs Cumming:
In this fast-paced society we now live in, we sometimes
forget that we are still a community and we need to slow
down and appreciate the little things, especially the
children. On May 14, 2004 Randy Bruce and Larry Burnett,
lineman for Sawnee EMC, took time to visit Cumming
Elementary for Career Day. During their
visit, Randy and Larry showed the children the equipment
they use to keep them safe when working on the power lines.
The children also got to see a bucket truck and just how
high it can go. And of course, they got to answer many
questions from the children. The staff at
Sawnee EMC prides themselves on their commitment to the
communities they serve. “For over 65 years, Sawnee EMC has
served its members with pride and to exceed members’ needs”,
states Blake House, Vice-President of Members Services.
That commitment ranges from offering money saving tips to
safety tips and what to do in an outage. For more
