(Cumming, June 7, 2004) – The second round of gifting for
The Sawnee EMC Foundations Operation Round Up program has proven to be a huge
success. On June 4, 2004, Foundation Directors Michael Millwood and Ed
Ledbetter presented a total of $8,400.00 to four (4) local charities during a
brief ceremony at the Sawnee EMC headquarters in Cumming. “The funds will be
used for various projects that will benefit the entire community,” states Cindy
King, Director of External Affairs.
Recipients of the funds were: Big
Brothers Big Sisters of Forsyth County ($2,000.00), ABBA House, Inc.
($2,400.00), The Guest House ($2,500.00) and The Girl Scouts of Northeast
Georgia ($1,500.00). Each charity that applies for funds must specify what the
money will be used for. Any qualifying 501 (c)(3) organization may apply for
funds. The applications are reviewed at the quarterly Foundation board meeting.
