“As a member-owned cooperative, Sawnee EMC and the Sawnee Foundation support our community in many ways,” said Blake House, Vice President of Member Services. “Through these scholarships, we are able to recognize young people who have worked hard in school and made a positive contribution in their community.”

The scholarship recipients were chosen from a field of 67 applicants from thirteen area high schools. A panel of three (3) retired educators judged the applicants based on school, community and work activities, an autobiographical essay and an interview. The scholarships will be used at an accredited college, university, vocational or technical school.
