WINNING TEAM SUPPORTS OPERATION ROUND UP
(Cumming, July 9, 2003)—The “Sawnee Shockers”, an employee softball team of Sawnee EMC, recently
traveled to Baxley Georgia to compete in the 4th Annual Charity
Softball Tournament. The “Shockers” swept
through the tournament claiming 1st place. The team was awarded
$1,300 to give to the charity of their choice. “As a team, we decided to give
the money to Operation Round Up for the benefit of our communities,” states
Blake House, captain and Vice President of Marketing and Legislative Affairs.
Sawnee EMC implemented Operation Round Up in April 2003. At
this time over 2600 members have signed up to participate in the wonderful
program. Participating members will contribute and average of $6 dollars a year. If 10,000 members would sign up, that would mean $60,000
that could be given back to the communities we serve and live in! All donations
are tax deductible for the
participating member. Funds will be distributed through an application process
to 501 (c)(3) organizations.
If you are a Sawnee EMC member and
would like to participate in the Operation Round Up program, simply check the
box found on your bill stub. You can also sign up online at www.sawnee.com or by calling your customer
service representative at 770-887-2363. Other donations are welcome. If you
have any questions, please call Cindy King at 678-455-1539 or email at cindy.king@sawnee.com.
