SAWNEE EMC TAKES THE MESSAGE OF
ENERGY CONSERVATION "ON THE ROAD"

(Cumming, October 6, 2008) — With electric energy prices on the rise nationwide and with no real relief or remedy in sight, Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation (Sawnee EMC), headquartered in Cumming, Georgia, announced today that it will be sponsoring the “Energy Conservation Road Show”.

This new and innovative approach has been designed to provide energy efficiency and conservation information to the members of Sawnee EMC right here where they live, work and play – in their own communities.

Blake House, Vice President of Energy Services, states that “our members are very busy and more often than not, do not have time to contact us.  We realize that now more than ever, they need information about how to conserve electricity, so we have developed a mobile energy information station that we are taking out to where they are… we are taking the message to them”.  He adds “costs are going up, that is a fact; and our members are asking us to tell them what they can do to save money and they will do it”.

The Sawnee EMC Energy Conservation Road Show has plans to travel to all seven (7) counties that Sawnee EMC servers (Forsyth, Fulton, Lumpkin, Dawson, Gwinnett, Cherokee and Hall) and set up in local shopping centers, bank parking lots, etc....  anywhere that Sawnee EMC members would frequent on a regular basis is where this energy conservation station will be located.

The goal is to provide SEMC members with literature about “how” to be more energy efficient, about the free energy improvement grants that are available for taking small steps to save energy in their home or business, as well as tips on how to conserve electric energy.   All SEMC members that stop by will receive a “complimentary” compact florescent light (CFL) bulb to use in their home or business.

Mr. House adds “each month in the Sawnee newsletter, we provide information about energy and energy efficiency”.  He continues “….energy cost are sky rocketing and we want our members to know that we care and we want them to do all they can to save on their electric bill, lower their energy usage and be good steward of our environment”.

Sawnee EMC hopes to provide its members useful energy conservation information about what they can do to aid in the cost increases that are on the horizon.  Suggested home improvements from Sawnee’s energy professional on site will be a key part of this program.  If SEMC members wish to schedule a visit for a “free” in home energy audit, staff will be available to do that here as well.

“We want all of our members to stop by and see us, get a CFL and learn more about what we can do together to help lower their monthly cost of electric energy,” Mr. House adds.

To learn more about this exciting program and to see where the Energy Conservation Road Show will be in your area, go to http://www.sawnee.com/roadshow.   All of the literature provided will be at this website.  Too busy to come by, no problem, you can request an onsite energy audit or request one of our free “do it yourself” energy audit DVDs at the website site as well.  At Sawnee EMC, We’re More Than Electricity, We’re Service.
