King SAWNEE EMC ANNOUNCES A CHANGE IN THEIR BASE RATE
(Cumming, November 9, 2005)— Sawnee EMC is dedicated to providing you, our member, with safe, reliable electric service at reasonable rates. We pride ourselves in knowing that we have maintained low, affordable energy rates for over 67 years with the last increase being in 1989. Effective with the first billing statement in 2006, you will see an increase in the base rate charges. The base rates include fixed costs, such as poles, wire, transformers and meters, the cost of reading your meter, processing, printing, and mailing monthly bills. Sawnee EMC Base Rates
“Sawnee EMC exists only to serve its members. We spend over 70% of every dollar we receive on purchased power. Much of these costs and cost increases, specifically in the areas of natural gas and coal, are beyond our control, “ states Michael Goodroe, President and CEO of Sawnee EMC. To help members control costs, Sawnee’s staff stands ready to assist our members in making their homes and business more energy efficient. “Be assured that the staff of SEMC will work very hard to help manage any increase in energy costs,” states Mr. Goodroe.
If you have any questions concerning this rate change, please contact the Sawnee EMC Customer Call Center at 770-887-2363 extension 7165. To help members prepare for the months ahead, Sawnee offers energy grants to help pay for some home improvements. One of our trained Energy Services professionals will be glad to discuss our programs with you. They can be reached at 770-887-2363, extension 7544 or check out our Web site at www.sawnee.com
