SAWNEE EMC EMPLOYEES DONATE CANNED FOOD TO CHARITIES
(Cumming, December 12, 2003)—Sawnee
EMC employees have a spirited holiday tradition, and this year they have out
done themselves. Through an employee
food drive, 2250 cans of food were collected and then donated to local food
pantries.
“Food
pantries are in dire need of food, especially around the holiday season. The employees of Sawnee EMC have big hearts
and always make the food drive a big success,” states Cindy King, Director of
External Affairs. The cans were donated to The Place in Forsyth County,
Starbright Foundation in Dawson County, Merismos Ministries in Cherokee County
and North Fulton Charities in Roswell.

Sawnee
EMC is a consumer-owned cooperative providing electricity and related services
to over 110,000 members in Forsyth, Cherokee, Dawson, Hall, Fulton, Gwinnett,
and Lumpkin counties. Collectively, Georgia’s 42 consumer-owned EMCs provide
electricity and related services to 3.7 million people, nearly half of
Georgia’s population, across 73% of the state’s land area. Georgia’s electric
membership cooperatives now serve more customers than any other state network
of EMCs in the nation.
