CUMMING, GA – Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation (Sawnee) announced today that it has received an award from J.D. Power for scoring “Highest in Customer Satisfaction” among electric cooperatives in their 2022 Electric Utility Residential Customer Satisfaction Study.  The study is based on J.D. Power’s research throughout the country and distinguishes Sawnee EMC with the highest customer satisfaction standards in their segment. Sawnee received a score of 809 out of a possible 1,000.  Additionally, Sawnee EMC achieved the highest scores in the segments of “Power Quality and Reliability”, “Price” and “Customer Care”.

“This is a great honor for the dedicated men and women who call Sawnee home each day, and also for over 170,000 members who have entrusted us to meet their energy needs and serve their communities,” states Michael A. Goodroe, President and CEO of Sawnee.  “This speaks volumes about our staff’s commitment to always putting our members needs first,” he adds.

This is not the first time that Sawnee EMC has been recognized by J.D. Power.  The member-owned electric cooperative, headquartered in Cumming, was honored by J.D. Power three (3) other times - in 2013 for Customer Satisfaction among Midsize Utilities in the South and was ranked Highest in Customer Satisfaction among electric cooperatives in 2018 and 2020.

“We could not be happier with this award; the fact that our members appreciate us and that they appreciate how we do business as their cooperative makes it all worthwhile,” states Blake House, Vice President of Member Services.  Mr. House adds, “Yes, we supply electricity, but we do so much more than just that.  We want our members to see value in the service we provide.  Customer service is ingrained in everything we do, and we are proud that this honor is based upon the direct feedback from our members.”

Sawnee EMC’s commitment to delivering world-class customer service, reliability, and innovative products and services, such as their “virtual solar” and “solar REC” programs and customizable “billing alerts” help Sawnee stand out with its members.
