(CUMMING, GA) – Sawnee EMC recently completed its annual member-wide satisfaction survey and over 166,000 Sawnee EMC member-owners were asked to participate.  Surveys were completed online, via an email invitation, or by using a printed postcard included in all May billing statements.  The member responses were sent to the developers of the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), a national group who measures customer satisfaction across multiple industries throughout the entire United States.

For 2021, Sawnee EMC received an ACSI score of “93” out of a maximum score of “100.”  This was one of the highest scores in the nation among utilities.  Sawnee’s score is higher than all 2021 investor-owned utility scores and it places Sawnee 21 points higher than the average cooperative utility score of 72, as well as 22 points higher than the municipal utilities score of 71, as per the 2020 ACSI Utility Sector Report.

This year’s ACSI data demonstrates Sawnee EMC continues to remain at the top nationally with regard to overall customer satisfaction.  There are only 14 other electric cooperatives within Touchstone Energy receiving a score of “90” or greater; with Sawnee EMC scoring a “93.”

As a not-for-profit electric cooperative, Sawnee EMC operates such that its actions are meant solely in the best interest of its member-owners; and the electric cooperative business model allows the staff and Board of Sawnee EMC to make member satisfaction a “top” priority.

Michael A. Goodroe, Sawnee EMC President and CEO, states “This year’s ACSI score provides a unique benchmark for us and our members and is a great measure of our members overall satisfaction with us as a company.  Our score further demonstrates that the staff of Sawnee EMC exists to serve its members and provide reliable, affordable and safe electricity every day.  We strive to accomplish these goals with one of our greatest assets - our knowledgeable staff and their dedication to member satisfaction.”
