(CUMMING, GA) – Sawnee EMC is excited to announce that its residential members now have access to several new home energy analysis tools within SmartHub, Sawnee EMC’s account management portal, created from their personal energy usage data.

One of the key new features is “disaggregation”.  Disaggregation is a process that takes member usage data and identifies the individual appliance types within the home that are actually using the electricity.  This can help identify high energy consuming items in the home and help locate potential issues that may be causing a high bill.

Appliances like air conditioners, electric water heaters, and electric vehicles leave distinct energy “fingerprints” within energy usage data.  Now, this new technology can identify these appliance fingerprints and estimate how much they cost to operate.

“With this new set of offerings, members can further educate themselves about their usage and get more involved in their household’s energy usage, all the way down to the appliance level,” states Blake House, Vice President of Member Services.

This process allows members to access and review personalized, detailed information to save energy and money.  Members may also sign up for text or email notifications to provide reports or alerts.  This essentially eliminates any surprises or “bill shock” when opening a power bill.

Members now have access to:

Bill Projection: Sign up for an alert that will automatically notify members, via email or text, midway through the billing cycle with an estimate for the next bill. This mid-cycle alert can help members make changes when they are headed for a high consumption bill… before the bill arrives.

Monthly Summary: This notification lets members know how much electricity was used during the last billing period, provides insight into electricity usage by appliances and includes personalized tips on how to save.

Bill Analysis: This will give members a deeper look into their disaggregated appliance usage while comparing it to the previous month to show usage variations.

Build Your Home Profile: Completing this profile allows members to make sure they receive the most accurate appliance breakdown through the new disaggregation feature.

Members can see this new suite of Home Energy Analysis features by logging into their online account at sawnee.com or utilizing the Sawnee EMC App. Automated notifications can be set up, at the member’s choice, in SmartHub under Settings > Manage Notifications.
