In compliance with “The Disposition of Unclaimed Property Act”, Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation is attempting to locate former members to whom checks were issued for the period July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017 for either capital credit funds or other purposes, but which have been returned by the U. S. Post Office as “undeliverable” or have otherwise been unclaimed.

A current list of these members, and their last known addresses, is maintained at our corporate office located at 543 Atlanta Road, Cumming, Georgia, for review from 8 am – 5 pm, M-F. To claim these funds, you must show adequate proof of identity and should contact our offices immediately.

The last possible date to claim these funds is October 17, 2022. If these former members fail to claim their capital credit funds by this date, they will be donated for charitable uses, as permitted by O.C.G.A. § 44-12-236 and other unclaimed property will be turned over to the State of Georgia, as directed by “The Disposition of Unclaimed Property Act”.

To verify your eligibility in claiming a refund, please submit your completed Request Form by email, to customerservice@sawnee.com or by fax, to (678) 947-3368. Please note that you may be required to show adequate proof of identity.
